We answer the question: can the cooler bag be washed?
A cooler bag is a container in which you can cool food and keep them at a stable temperature.
Since food and drinks are stored in the thermal bag, it often gets dirty. There is a need to clean it.
The owner of the cooler bag is faced with the question of whether it can be machine washed. The ability to wash a thermal bag is directly related to the type of container used.
Let us examine in more detail whether it is possible and how to properly wash a refrigerator bag in an automatic washing machine and by hand.

Is the thermo bag allowed?
Any washing of the thermal bag is prohibited if the product works by connecting to the mains and there are cold accumulators inside the bag. In these cases, only dry cleaning of the cooler bag with a brush or slightly damp cloth is permissible.
Almost all manufacturers prohibit cleaning such products in a typewriter... This also applies when:
- the thing is made of polyvinyl chloride;
- the product contains cloth fabric;
- the bag contains foam rubber;
- there are foil inserts inside the product.
Thermal bags may be hand washed if there are no electrical components inside.
Hand washing of thermal bags is allowed, inside of which there are elements from:
- polyvinyl chloride,
- cloth fabrics,
- foam rubber,
- foil.
But it is important that such elements are removable. General tips for cleaning bags find here.
In a washing machine
Usually, manufacturers indicate on refrigerated bags information that they are prohibited from washing in a typewriter.
But if the manufacturer allows this, then it is necessary:
- remove all items and things from the bag;
- remove the bottom from the product, if it is removable;
- unfasten all straps and other removable elements from the bag;
- be sure to fasten all the locks to the end;
- put the product in a special bag for washing;
- place the bag in the drum of the washing machine;
- set the "Delicate" mode at a low water temperature (no more than 30C);
- set the minimum drum speed during washing (maximum 500);
- wash a thing for no more than 30 minutes.
Manually
Hand washing is preferred. The procedure should be carried out according to the scheme:
- Remove all objects and things.
- Remove the bottom from the product if it is removable.
- Unfasten all straps and other removable elements from the bag.
- Be sure to fasten all locks to the end.
- Take a large basin and fill it with warm water. Its temperature should not exceed 30C.
- Add a non-concentrated washing gel to a bowl of water. There is one large spoonful of gel per liter of water. Lather up the solution.
- Soak the cooler bag in the solution for 10-15 minutes.
- Treat the dirty areas of the thing with a soft brush soaked in solution.
- Rinse the washed product under running water.
It is necessary to clean the inside of the thermal bag when washing by hand. For this, it is recommended to use only a soft microfiber cloth.
Correct drying
It is recommended to dry the product upside down on a hard surface. This will drain the water from the bag faster.
It is best to dry the item in a well-ventilated place. Thermal bags must not be dried in the sun, near electrical appliances and on batteries.
Methods for removing different types of stains
We recommend using the following cleaning agents, depending on the type of dirt:
- Dishwashing gel... Suitable for removing greasy stains. It is enough to apply the dishwashing gel to the dirt and rub it thoroughly with a brush.
After that, you need to wipe the treated area with a damp cloth.
- Lemon acid... Suitable for removing stubborn stains. It is necessary to pour 10 liters of cold water into a basin, add 5 large tablespoons of acid there.
Soak the entire cooler bag in the solution for 30 minutes. Then it must be washed by hand.
- Vinegar. Suitable for removing juice stains as well as fruit. There is one large spoonful of vinegar per liter of warm water. The solution is applied to the dirt, and after 5 minutes it is washed off with warm water.
- Laundry soap... Suitable for all types of stains. The soap is moistened with warm water and foamed. The lather is applied to the stain and left on for 10 minutes. Then the contaminated area is brushed and rinsed with water.
For stubborn stains, we recommend using a citric acid / vinegar combination.
Recommendations
It is important to carry out one more procedure after the washed product is completely dry. You need to rub the thermal bag from the inside with a small amount of petroleum jelly.
It is necessary to moisten a cotton pad in it and walk around the entire perimeter of the bag. The processed item should be left to dry for a couple of hours. After that, the product is wiped from the inside with a dry cloth until the greasy marks are removed.
In order for the thing to last longer, you should adhere to a number of restrictions:
- Do not use aggressive agents for cleaning.
- Do not treat them with bleaches or stain removers.
- Old and sufficiently worn cooler bags should not be machine washed. It is not recommended to wash them by hand. It is enough just to gently wipe such things with soft sponges.
- New cooler bags should not be washed either. It is recommended to dry clean them the first time. Only after several uses is it allowed to wash the item by hand.
Conclusion
Most manufacturers of cooler bags explicitly indicate that such products are prohibited from machine washing. Because of this, the thing may deform. The bag's moisture-repellent layer can also be damaged.
Any washing of the product is prohibited if it is equipped with electrical elements and built-in cold accumulators.... In such cases, the item can only be cleaned dry.
In extreme cases, the thermal bag can be machine washed. In this case, the product should be washed in a special bag at low speed with a delicate mode and without spinning.
